Copic coloring

Inspired by my friends Malin & Hanna, who just discovered Copics, I've rekindled my coloring flame. I'm actually really happy with how the skirts came out on this card. I guess the old saying "practice makes perfect" is still going strong.

Pyssloteket now has quite an assortment of Stamping Bella-stamps. You can find them here.

Build a bouquet

Somewhere in cyberspace I saw this gorgeous Build a bouquet stampset from Stampendous. I asked my favourite scrapstore owner, also known as the main pusher, if she could order it for me and so she did. It's been on backorder for a little eternity but finally it showed up!

I got the matching dies as well but this card is masked on watercolor paper, painted with my Inktense pens and then fussy cut. The patterned paper is from Maja design, Coffe in the arbour, the bow from Simon says stamp (I think) and the die cut letters are QK "Katie".

And one more

My last card from my Zig coloring session. I've been trying to accomplish some shading with my grey marker but I'm not really happy with how it came out. Whenever my husband is unhappy with his golf score he blames the clubs and gets himself a new putter or sand wedge or whatever. Must be the equippments fault. I guess that means I can invest in a few more markers, right?

Zig v.2

This is also a Zig clean color card. For this one I chose to use the markers as are, trying to get some shading using different color markers. I don't have that many Zig markers (yet) so I'm feeling a bit stumped used to my 250+ copics as I am. I just adore the "Baked with love" stamp set from Lawn fawn! Just wish I'd been a little more careful when doing my stamping; now the rolling pin looks like is't flying.

Here goes...

... with one of my first Zig attempts. For this card I used only one color per item but diluted it with water to get some shading. This card is inspired by a beatiful card by the very talented Yana Smakula. Check out her blog if your unfamiliar with her work.

My baby

My baby girl had her 11th birthday a few weeks ago. ELEVEN!! How in the world did that happen? But make no mistake, she's definitely 11. Oh the joy of pre-teens....

This is a really old stamp from The Greeting Farm paired with some cool papers from Bo Bunny's collection "#Forever young". Love the pink, black and lime green combo. The coloring is done with copics. I have a few posts coming up where I've been trying out myZig clean color markers. It's quite the challenge I tell you so please, keep your expectations at a minimum.

Leftovers

I actually made the stenciled background on this card to go with another centerpiece but once I'd put it together it looked absolutely horrible! Fortunately I'd used tape and not glue so I just took it apart and started over again, ending up with two cards in the same color scheme. The stencils are from TCW, the butterflies from Paper smooches and the sentiment from KaiserCrafts.

Very girly

A friend at work needed a card for an upcoming christening and she very specifically asked for a girly card in browns and pinks. I immediately knew I had to go and get me some of the new Maja desing papers, "Vintage baby". I made a shaker card with lots of flowers from Petaloo and a sprinkeling of butterflies from a dollarbin at a surplus store. Scrappys stuff is e v e r y w h e r e.

Girly frilly stuff  is not really my forté so I'm actually quite pleased with how this card came together.

Isn't it funny?

Sometimes you don't realize the greatness of a stamp or die until you've seen it in action. It wasn't until my friend Malin showed me these beautiful cards that I felt that "Everything flower" had to come live with me. I saw them yesterday morning. Last night I put together this card. Having a scrap shop around the corner has its perks.

Malin colored hers beautifully with distress markers but since I'm a lazy bum I embossed my card and then reached for my distress stains and a waterbrush. Once the card was dry I removed the embossing with an iron.

Lots and lots and lots of hearts.

I sat down to make a card with my new Memory Box die. A card as in one card. But then I realized I really wanted my heart in a few different colours. Four actually. And to get four different colours I needed to die cut the hearts four times. And once I had all those die cuts in little bowls on my desk and had assembled my first card, I couldn't just throw the rest of it away?! So I ended up with four very bright and happy Heart waterfall cards in my stash, each one a little different from the rest.

Chevron

The other night I felt I just had to do something colorful with my (relatively) new playmates from Hero Arts, their shadow inks. Meet Butterbar, Cantaloupe and Bubblegum pink (sounds like something from My little pony...). The chevron stamp is from Lawn Fawn, Chevon backdrops, and the balloon and sentiment from Paper smooches, Hullabaloo.

More watercolor

I had another go at my Just add watercolor pad from Cosmo cricket, this time using distress stains. I think this is my favourite color combo for distress products: Picked raspberries, Worn lipstick and Dried marigold. I love the intense colors contrasted by the black and I'm really happy with how this card turned out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hard of hearing

My friend RoseMarie inspired me to this card by showing a really funny pic of two chocolate bunnies in this predicament. Of course I had to adapt my Eggsta Special Easter  bunnies  from Lawn Fawn  and reproduce it. The floral print is Echo Park's "Floral Easter" and the dies are Stitched rectangles large and small.

Shake it!

Got me some of the bright and cheerful Easter papers from Echo Park's collection "Happy Easter". For this card I used "Easter words", front- and backside. The stamps (and dies) are Lawn Fawn's "Eggstra special Easter".

Spring is coming!

CAS extreme

A while back I boasted to Darnell that I don't have any NBUS* in my stash. Weeeeell.... going through my Lawn Fawn-sets I found the Science of Love set and realized that I blatantly LIED to Darnell. Or actually, it wasn't an outright lie. Normally my new schtuff gets to sit on my desk until used  but I remember having to clear up the scrappy clutter due to the inconvenience of guests coming to the house (hubby's got some nerve making me clear away my crative chaos!) So the stamps got put away unused. I'm sorry Darnell, I promise I wont let it happen again!

And to put things right I just felt I had to make a card and voila!

Dreadful coloring! That's what happens when you realize you've used the wrong ink for Copics and the wrong paper for watercolors.....

*Never Been Used Schtuff

Hello!

I think these three friends from the "Birthday buddies" set where perfect for some partial stamping in tiny little stitched squares. They look like the kind of friends that'll just show up outside your door and scare the bejeebers out of you. I just wish I had a sentiment that said "surprise!" instead of "hello"...

This is my entry in Hobbyworld's March challenge, to interpret a sketch made by the ever fabulous Tettiz:

CAS-ology mini

I'm back! My scrappy crafty weekend was absolutely fabolous - wonderful people, good food, inspiration in abundance and more than a lot of laughs. I think I made 13 cards but I'm going to start off by showing you one that I made after returning home. This weeks word at CAS-ology is "mini". My mind instantly leapt to the the teeny tiny stitched squares in my set, the ones I didn't really know what to do with, and my interpretation is three little squares over a watercolor background. The butterflies and the chevron stripes on the back panel are stamped with gesso, giving a kind of resist effect.

Thanks for stopping by!

Grönt är skönt...

...men jag använder det ganska sällan annat än till gräs eller en och annan sköldpadda. Dien kommer från Memory Box och bakgrundsstämpeln från Hero arts

Green is a lovely color but one I seldom use for anything other than a patch of grass or the occasional turtle. The die is from Memory box and the background stamp from Hero arts.

Free spririts

Jag bara älskar det här stämpelsetet. Det kommer definitivt att komma till användning! Jag har många vänner som gärna avnjuter ett glas med nåt gott - med eller utan alkohol

I just adore this stamp set. I'll definitely make good use if it! I have a lot of friends who enjoy a glass of a little something - be it with or without alcohol.

Zoo crew

Today I'm off to a scrap hullabaloo. Twentysomething scrap addicted ladies cooped up together from Friday to Sunday with lots of scrappy goodness and possibly some wine... just saying.... I'll be teaching two classes and figured I'd best make some cards to illustrate what we'll be trying to achieve. I thought this cute hippo from Paper Smooches' Zoo crew would go well with this brownish grayish (though not 50 shade of it) background.
