Chevron

The other night I felt I just had to do something colorful with my (relatively) new playmates from Hero Arts, their shadow inks. Meet Butterbar, Cantaloupe and Bubblegum pink (sounds like something from My little pony...). The chevron stamp is from Lawn Fawn, Chevon backdrops, and the balloon and sentiment from Paper smooches, Hullabaloo.

To keep or not to keep

I wasn't really happy with the result when using an embossing folder on a card base the other day. It was heading for the bin but for some reason I decided to pull out my brayer and some distress paint. Before I knew it there were doilies, flairs, sequins and a bunch of other stuff all over the place. So now instead of heading for the bin it's heading over to my friend's mailbox.

Glitter paper

When in Copenhagen I found some really nice self adhesive glitter paper sheets at Tiger (a Scandinavian equivalent to the Dollarstore) and I had to try it out as soon as I got home.

Behold the humungus amounts I used!

I also got the same stuff but as a roll of tape. I only got two colors but I'm hoping the swedish stores have it as well beacause I need to ger me some more of that glittery goodness.

DIY chalkboard

I was never really swept away by the chalkboard trend but in one of the online cardclasses someone showed a really cool card using this stamp set (Vogue abode by Paper smooches) paired with white embossing powder on black cardstock. I very much liked the effect and had to give it a go.

The white embossing powder I use is Ranger's superfine detail but I'm not really happy with the coverage. Still, it's the best of the ones I've tried. Whats your favourite white embossing powder? Leave a comment and let me know.

Back to reality

Yup, that sure is what it feels like today after a few wonderful days in Copenhagen. It involved a little bit of shopping but a whole lot of walking. I don't know the last time my poor feet suffered so badly (due to a not so wise choice of shoes)! On the other hand, considering all the delicious food, beer and pastries we stuffed our faces with, we probably should have walked twice as much...

Well, at least there's some small comfort in knowing this "Monday" isn't really a Monday but actually a Tuesday. May Friday come swiftly....

Today I'm sharing a card using my sadly abandoned washi tape and alphabet dies (from Lawn fawn). I really like the combination black/yellow/red!

Hope your Easter/Passover/few days off from work was delightful!
Thanks for stopping by!

"Hej" is swedish for.... "hi". Who would have guessed, huh?!
